Pictured above, Cornell's Andre Wilkins cuts the net down following the Big Red's 2009 Ivy League Championship clinching win. Below, some news from around the Ivy League...Columbia, Dartmouth and Harvard have all released their 2009-2010 rosters.
Princeton becomes the first Ivy League school to announce its 2009-2010 schedule. The Tigers opted to go with a somewhat soft schedule considering the strong returning nucleus, with the marque Tiger games coming in visits to George Washington, Cal, Rutgers and St. Joseph's. Princeton will also visit mid majors such as Western Michigan, Marist and UNC Greensboro, while hosting Manhattan.

I might be reading this wrong, but I don't see Princeton playing Penn at all.
Did Penn drop to D3 or D2?
Or maybe Penn is going to the NBA D-League because their basketball history is so laureled that the Ivy Leauge was holding them back.
Or, maybe everyone quit the bball team and took up swing dancing so that they could ensure some good dancing in March (Belcore anyone?).
These are the questions that need to be answered, but mainly the statement about Penn not being on the schedule.
A point well taken.
When bothering to read said document you will find the below statement attached herein.
"Two notes to remember when reading the schedule are that the dates and sites for the two games against Penn have not been decided."
The location of said statement having been obvious to rooters of Orange and Black may not be so apparent to rooters of Redder dyes.
"These are the questions that need to be answered, but mainly the statement about Penn not being on the schedule."
Wha...? Who taught you to write? BRF?
When bothering to read the schedule, and schedule only, where does it say that?
But, thank you for pointing out the information on the other page.
As for the anonymous referencing BRF - why do you guys come here from the other board if you hate this site so much? I read that site every now and then, b/c there is some interesting information, but it seems like one out of two or every three posts on the Penn board takes a hit at this site, BRF, or Cornell bball. Do you truly have nothing else to talk about? But, that's ok, everyone gets their opinion.
To the original Mr. Anonymous: Indeed, the Orange have a peculiar way about them, and having sojourned with the Orange among many other locations it gives me pleasure to interpret forthwith.
To the Mr. Anonymous who chides owners and other visitors of this site: Please endeavour to maintain pleasant humour in your dialogue. Perhaps understanding that this is a blog and not scientific treatise would help. Note you trespass on grounds neither called 'Australian Rules Basket-Ball' nor 'Creative Recruitment Policies within Upper Echelons of Academic Learning.' Pay heed, good gentleman.
What can I say? BRF's as good at mangling the language as he is at collecting (and sometimes copying) information. It would be nice if he'd drop any pretense of objectivity and learn to use a comma and that using a sports cliche in every third sentence is not how you build a site (or, for that matter, that Blogger has a really useful "read more" button so he doesn't have to copy and paste all 2000 words of an article he's cribbing right on to the front page). But for a guy who isn't on regular speaking terms with reality he puts on a good show.
Well, well, well! If it isn't the most diabolical haters this side of the Mississippi.
That of course was Beautiful talking. Beautiful on the weekends does stunts for Little Richard in gay movies.
Alrighty. You can quote Chappelle. Way to put that Hotel Mgmt. degree to work.
Anonymous Penn fan,
Why do you even waste your time reading this blog? I am a huge Cornell basketball fan, but would never read a Penn Blog. It would just irritate me to read an enemy viewpoint.
If you want objectivity, read ESPN.com. This site is primarily for Cornell fans who don't mind the Blog's affinity for everything Big Red.

Just a neutral observer here...
I don't understand the point of the initial post.
2008-09 was the 107th consecutive season that the Tigers and Quakers have played home-and-home in basketball. Did you possibly have some inside information that they are suddenly going to stop for 2009-10?
Or can we assume what most of us do when discussing schedules, that the "newsworthy" part is the non-conference opposition.
I find that most fans do simply assume that a team's basketball schedule core is its conference foes, for the most part on a home-and-home basis, something that merits no special mention.
Like CBRF, I think Princeton's non-conference schedule is nicely-geared to give the improving Tigers a 9-3 start. However, as it contains only two teams with 2008-09 closing RPI's better than 160, it runs a risk of not preparing them well for the league season.
With respect to Ivy League basketball reporting, you don't always get pure objectivity with ESPN (or other major websites).
The ESPN writer that covered Ivy basketball for the last three seasons was a Penn alum.
This site does not claim to be neutral or unbiased. But we stand behind our factual reporting.
@Anonymous 9:38PM:
Really, every year Penn and Princeton play a home and home series? Golly, thanks sir or madam for that insight. Is it just like how every other pair of teams in the league play a home and home series.
Of course I thought they would be playing each other again, but I thought the "newsworthy" part would be that the two of them wouldn't be the season ending game for the league. I haven't been following the league for too long, but that's how I always remember it happening. And, if that were to change this year, and potentially have an alternate pair of teams have the season ending game, then I think many would find that piece of information "newsworthy". So, that was the original intent of my post, to get more information about when Penn and Princeton would be playing.
The jabs at Penn though, why not?
If you would have read the link on the Princeton site you would have had your answer.
But that would have required intelligence.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but you did write this:
"I might be reading this wrong, but I don't see Princeton playing Penn at all."
The wording implies that you didn't think they were playing. Nowhere did you ask whether the 2009-10 Ivy League regular season would close with a Penn-Princeton game.
It's a good question. It's really only been like that for about the last fifteen years, so it could easily change. We will have to wait awhile for the final dates of the games.
I personally don't take alot of pleasure from jabs at Penn or any other Ivy League team, particularly when fortune has turned against them. I respect the possibility that any one of the other seven could rise up and do exactly what Cornell has done over the past few years.
Although the comments coming from the Penn contingent that have infiltrated this blog are so petty, I think it's great that they feel the need to come over here and take jabs at our school and CBRF since they have no grounds to talk smack about basketball anymore.
It's just laughable when I picture some disgruntled Penn alum looking up the Hotel School on wikipedia and trying to say something clever about it.
I have never been to any Penn basketball site, but I can imagine how great the commentary over there is. I can assure you, however, that when Cornell basketball has a down year, I wont be coming over there to make Quaker jokes or correct the grammar of the site manager. Unreal.
P.S. Can people just use some sort of name when posting... it's silly to try to have a back-and-forth when everyone posts as "anonymous".
Totally agree w/ Q'nis and cmcwo44.
Why do these other "Anon's" waste thier time coming over here if all they can contribute is alot of whining and sour grapes about their own programs. I enjoy the "bias" of this site and couldn't imagine wasting my time by going on some other school's basketball blog. What losers!!
It's funny how young so many of these posters must be. In case you aren't aware, the proprietor of your blog spent the better part of 10 years trolling violently on Penn and/or Ivy basketball forums. Of the boards that were moderated, your hero's trollery was so out of line - he actually committed an NCAA violation once - that he was regularly banned, only to reregister under a different name to put on the same shenanigans. For anyone to be commenting on anyone else's behavior in an arena where BRF is involved is just ridiculous.
To the anonymous before me:
So, b/c of what someone used to do in the past, that they do not do now because they invest time in their own blog, it becomes ridiculous to comment on others' behavior?
Weird, while we're at it, let's not talk about Cornell bball b/c in the past they were not good and not worth talking about.
Penn fans, times are tough for you right now...times will be tough for you for years to come as long as Cornell stays strong and other programs begin to emerge as well. So, if you want higher blood pressure continue to be bitter in the misery of your program.
First of all, there are three full time owners of this site. We also get some contributions from part-time contributors (and welcome interested contributors).
Secondly, there was NEVER any NCAA violation (or even an allegation by any school or governing body of a violation). So, the suggestion above is entirely FALSE.
Thirdly, the former Ivy basketball site, which is now as dead as Ben Franklin, was moderated by a Penn alum. The site was biased and ultimately failed because it alienated alums from all schools not named Penn (including even a very successful Princeton program).
Love it or hate it, this site will forever be The Cornell Basketball Blog.
Thanks for reading non-Cornellians. You are welcome here.
Look, it's totally within BRF's rights to put together a proprietary site with required registration or even simply moderate comments. If he does that those of us who disagree with him can choose or not choose to play by the rules he sets. As long as he doesn't he's only reaping the whirlwind he spent a very long time sewing.
CBB,
As a non-Cornell reader, I thank you for your post.
For Cornell posters - the attitude of the first post in this thread only encourages bad behavior from others. I hope it doesn't reflect the values of Cornell or this blog.
For non-Cornell posters - some of your attacks on CBB appear baseless and unfair. I've seen no evidence that CBB lifts material from other sites without proper attribution. Also, taking CBB to task for grammatical errors - in a blog! - is silly and pointless.
I hope we are all capable of having more intelligence discussion about Ivy league basketball than this thread.
"Hear Hear". It seems to me that some posters are more concerned about comma's than being factual. And what does age have anything to do with reading this blog. To actually say he was "trolling violently" on some other sites says more about you grammatically(sp)than any missing comma's. To hold yourself out to be this blog's "policeman" is a total waste of your time, has it not occured to you that we don't mind his shenanigans or behavior, only yours.
