Schedule Update [updated 1:51 p.m.]

Through an exhaustive search of opponent official websites and some fan site message boards, we were able to identify a few more key dates on the Cornell Big Red's upcoming 2009-2010 schedule. Below is a glimpse of the 31 projected games. Thus far we have identified 29 known Division I opponents.

The Big Red traditionally play a game on New Years Eve and there appears to be two remaining open dates -- December 31 and January 11. These two open dates could potentially be filled by a visit to Boston University (a return game for last season), another Division I team(s) or by the traditional Division III team(s).

All games listed below are tentative until formally announced by Cornell Athletics. In addition, we list below the key dates on the Cornell 2009-2010 academic calendar for purposes of evaluating potential student body attendance at home games.

Sorry, typo. Syracuse is 11/24.

How good is your source on Drexel hosting the Legends sub-region? I have heard some rumors about it, but also others that it fell through.

The Cornell Basketball Blog said...

We believe it is happening. Good sources.

Sorry to be picky, but you list the first two games as being played in 2008.

AGGGGH! Not picky at all. Thanks for the catch! Fixed.

Any thoughts on the possibility of playing Ursinus on December 31st? I know with them being a Division III school it would be really unlikely that Cornell would play at Ursinus, but we are playing La Salle in Philly just 2 days before and the way we handled them last year I dont think it would be much of a risk to play them on the road. If we can't get another division I opponent for that day do you think there's any chance we play at Ursinus on the 31st?

No to Ursinus. They already released their schedule.

We believe this is a typo on USD's part. We believe the USD game is part of the Kansas roadtrip.
