News and Notes: Friday Edition

Below some news and notes for Friday...
  • Hmmm, Charlie Zegers of MSG "profiles" Jeff Foote in connection with Foote's workout with the Knicks. The profile is as follows (try to contain your laughter): "Jeff Foote (Center, Cornell)-Fans of March Madness may remember Foote as one of the key players from Cornell’s impressive run in this year’s NCAA Tournament. Foote is a legit seven-footer with a nice outside shot, but most scouts think he lacks the athleticism to be a part of Mike D’Antoni’s fast-paced offense. Think of him as a (very) poor man’s Troy Murphy." We note for the record that Foote never attempted a three-point shot in his entire college career.

I swear that they just see the Ivy league conference next to Foote's name and automatically assume he's a big man with a nice outside shot a la Troy Murphy. What a joke. What exactly do these guys get paid for?

I'd say he's more a rich man's Eddy Curry, considering Curry is now broke and still on the Knicks roster.

It would be even more LOL if he was confusing Foote with Ryan Wittman, which is certainly possible.

Actually, Foote was said to be working on an outside shot at Portsmouth. He doesn't yet have the strength to bang inside at the NBA level, so I think his strategy was to flash his potential shooting skills.

He can play point guard... anyone remember that time he brought it up court against Harvard (near the end of the game) at Newman this year?
