News and Notes

Below, some news and notes for Thursday. Above, a 1946 Cornell-Colgate game program.
  • Adam Wire and Max Groebe were named among the "Top Twenty Junior Athletes" by the Cornell Daily Sun.
  • Aaron Osgood reports to the twittersphere that he has added weight and reduced body fat. Osgood is listed on the roster at 6'9" and 230 lbs and was considered by Steve Donahue as the player most ready to make a major leap forward next season in playing time and role.
  • The Badger Herald reviews Wisconsin's season and notes that the Badgers were "overmatched" in their 87-69 defeat to Cornell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Herald also writes that the "second round exit to Cornell in the NCAA Tournament was surely a disappointment."
  • A group of Ithaca College seniors made a "bucket list" of things to do before graduating, which included attending a Cornell men's basketball game.

I'm not going to lie, that was a pretty weak list of athletes stat-wise. In addition to Max, there was a baseball player on the list with a .413 SLUGGING PERCENTAGE and 10 strikeouts in 17 innings.
