News and Notes: Afternoon Update

Below, some late afternoon news and notes...
  • SB Nation notes with respect to the Knicks' draft last night, "I'd reach out to for summer league [roster]: Scottie Reynolds, Omar Samhan, Jeremy Lin, Ryan Wittman. Reynolds could stick at point guard, Samhan has a much more developed game than Zoubek, Lin is an intriguing player (though likely a tweener), and Wittman could be a Rautins-like shooter as well."
Manny Harris, Sylven Landesberg, A.J. Ogilvy, Brian Zoubek, Jon Scheyer, Sherron Collins, Jerome Randle, Matt Bouldin, Scottie Reynolds, Samardo Samuels, Tyler Smith, Courtney Fortson, Armon Bassett, Ryan Wittman, and Omar Samhan. I could have missed somebody, but this group is a pretty good mix of players who either led their teams to successful seasons in 2009-10 or played huge four-year roles at their colleges of choice. In some cases, they did both. And every NBA team passed on all of them... Samhan and Wittman just led their teams to brilliant Sweet 16 runs...

Wittman's picture on his ESPN draft profile is Adam Wire

Other schools already seem to know about where their undrafted guys are going for summer leagues (Sherron Collins to Charlotte, Scheyer to Wizards, Zoubek to Nets). Is there a list out there already? Are any of our Big 3 doing anything?

Lin signed with dallas, good for him - well deserved and he could make that team as a backup pg. Wonder where Witt will end up.

Crossing my fingers hoping Louis Dale gets some opportunities. It's impossible that people didn't notice him during the tournament ... his name was repeated over and over by Goodman on Fox, by folks on ESPN ... but it seemed like our Big 3 experienced waves of popularity ... first (after Kansas) it was all about Wittman, then after the 86-50 Harvard beatdown there was serious Foote press ... it wasn't until the tourney that Dale started being called "the solution" and "the difference maker," but by then, it seemed like Portsmouth was already pretty filled up etc etc. I pray he gets some chances.

That is Show SOOOO funny how ESPN has Wire's picture for Witt. Shows how much respect the Ivy League gets.

cornellbigred.com says Wittman is going to Boston Celtics and mentioned again that Foote is going to that Israeli team
