News and Notes: Early Evening Edition

Below, some afternoon news and notes...
  • Macklin and Lovett (M&L) announced the signing of Jon Jaques. In other agent news, Louis Dale is signed with World Wide Hoops while Ryan Wittman has signed with Ohio-based representation, Mark Termini Associates Inc. M&L's release with respect to Jaques states:
MLA is proud to announce the signing of Cornell University forward, Jon Jacques. For a guy who played less than 100 minutes in three years of basketball, 2010 turned into a coming out party for Jacques.

The 6′7″ senior was an integral part of the Ivy League Champs, Cinderella season and push into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Though Jon averaged about 7 points per game, he shot 45% from 3 point range, 50% from the field and 81% from the line.

Well Jon, it looks like your hard work and perseverance has paid off. Congratulations on a great season and welcome to your new team-Macklin & Lovett Associates!

  • Former Cornell basketball player, Alex Hill, who played sparingly for the Big Red during his first two seasons, returned home to Toronto a year ago to play closer to his family. Today, the University of Toronto formally announced his addition to the Blues' basketball program.

He left his sophomore year, but only played his freshman year. He would not have contributed as a sophomore.
