Below, some news and notes for Wednesday... Above, Cornell will always have 1966...
- The Buffalo News reports St. Bonaventure's 2010-2011 schedule, including the Bonnies' November 19 visit to Newman Arena. A year after Cornell players, Max Groebe (UMass) and Mark Coury (Kentucky) faced their former teams, the St. Bonaventure game comes a year late for Jeff Foote ('10), who will not have the opportunity to suit up against his old school.
- Cornell's new recruits are arriving on campus this week to commence orientation. Cornell's freshmen include Jake Matthews, Dominick Scelfo, Dwight Tarwater, and Manny Sahota. Additional freshmen, Jamal Cherry and Nnamdi Okoye will reportedly attempt to try-out and earn roster spots.
- After finishing both the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons ranked third in the country in three-point shooting accuracy, Cornell concluded the 2009-2010 season ranked first in the nation. Say what you want about the 2010-2011 roster's level of experience or size, but this team should not drop off much in shooting. Between Chris Wroblewski, Max Groebe, Andrew Ferry, Dominic Scelfo, Jake Matthews, and Errick Peck, Cornell should be among the nation's leaders again in dropping the three-ball. The issue for this team could come down to defense and rebounding.
- Speaking of the Cornell roster, you have to go back to the 2005-2006 season to find a Cornell team without at least one player topping 6'10" in height.
