News and Notes: Friday Edition

Below, some news and notes for Friday...

  • The Daily Gopher comments on Minnesota's December 4 game against Cornell as follows, "Cornell was a great team last year but they lost a lot and should be very vulnerable."
  • Wisconsin is headed to the Old Spice Classic this fall with Bleacher Report noting, "Under head coach Bo Ryan, Wisconsin punched their ninth straight ticket to the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Cornell in the second round."

Now, I'm not a Cornell Alumnus (my own Alma Mater is Princeton), but the trash talk by Van Nest is just sad and pathetic. It could maybe mean something if the entire starting lineup for Cornell had not graduated.

I can say that this is at least one Princeton alumnus that will be cheering for the Cornell for at least two games this year.

The only new person I see on that Twitter list is Dwight Tarwater (the new #33). Anyone else?

LOL, at this very moment, the former #33 Alex Tyler has 33 followers and is following 33 people on Twitter.

I think Van Nest was just playing around. Someone tweeted at him about being "executed like a puppy" last year and he seemed to be making a j/k response, not "trash talking".
