Recruiting News

Below, some recruiting news from around the Ivy League....

Please note that we update these lists daily.Penn State received a commitment from reports that Jimmy McDonnel (Memorial HS) Jackson, NJ, 6-10, C, committed to Temple after decommitting from Division II UMass-Lowell. McDonnel was offered by Princeton.

Brewster Academy reports that Max Hooper (Brewster Academy) Brewster, NH, 6-6, F, has interest from Citadel, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Hofstra, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Mt St Mary's, and Princeton. He received offer from Cal-Irvine after visiting the campus last week. Hooper is originally from Santa Ana, California.

Matt Townsend (Chappaqua HS) Chappaqua, NY, 6-6, F, told that when he committed to Yale, he held offers from Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Penn, Navy, "several other Patriot league schools." He had attended Yale's and Harvard's Elite Camps.

MinnesotaPreps quotes new Harvard recruiting commitment, Jonah Travis (DeLaSalle HS), Minneapolis, MN, 6-6, F as saying, "They see me playing as a 3/4 combo forward that is able to take advantage of any match up that I am presented with." commented on the commitment as follows, "Travis is a 6'6 forward and will battle for playing time in an already crowded wing position, which has Laurent Rivard (6'5), Kyle Casey (6'7), Matt Brown (6'4), and others. "

David Carr (Central Catholic HS) Portland, OR, 6-2, G, committed to Portland according to He reportedly chose Portland over offers from Penn, Davidson, Bucknell, Idaho, Montana, and Portland State.

T.J. Burke (Marcos De Niza HS), Tempe, AZ, 6-8, F, has offers from Northern Arizona, Lehigh, Northern Colorado, Pacific, UC Irvine, Houston Baptist and Yale according He is a 4.0 student.

Recruit Recon reports that Hunter Cotton (Northfield Mount Hermon School) Northfield, MA, 6-7, F, has offers from Holy Cross and Hofstra, with interest from Cornell, Princeton, Davidson and Virginia Tech, among others. reports the Ivies are all over three brothers on the Sacred Heart basketball team in Atherton, California.

Cole McConnell (Sacred Heart Prep) Atherton, CA, 6-4, G has interest from Columbia, Dartmouth, Rochester, Tufts, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, and Penn. He is a member of the class of 2012. His brother, Reed McConnell (Sacred Heart Prep) Atherton, CA, 6-5, G, has offers from Brown, Columbia, and UC San Diego. Reed is a member of the class of 2011 along with his twin, Will McConnell (Sacred Heart Prep) Atherton, CA, 6-6, F, who has interest from Dartmouth, Harvard, Emory and Williams College.

Brandon Dean (Greenhill School) Dallas, TX, 6-6, F has a list of Cornell, Davidson, Bucknell, SMU, Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Bradley.

Dakeeba Battee-Aston (Finlay Prep) Henderson, NV, 6-8, F likes Cornell and Cal.

Mike Zangari (Red Land HS) Lewisberry, PA, 6-9, F, lists Cornell, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Rutgers among high majors of interest. Rutgers has already offered.

Jordan Young (Freedom HS) Freedom, PA, 5-10, G gives a list of Penn, NC State, Wichita State, and Texas State.

Hans Brasse (Gaston Day School) Gastonia, NC, (Hill School), Pottstown, PA, 6-8, F, a postgrad student, has an offer from North Florida with interest from Cornell, Penn, Princeton, Charlotte, Stanford, ECU, Wofford, Clemson and South Carolina, among others.
