News and Notes: Friday Edition

Here we post some additional screen shots from Cornell's 2010 March Madness run. Further down below, news and notes for the day.

Above, Cornell was the talk of every major sports website during the 2009-2010 season. Now for some news and notes for Friday...
  • It is homecoming weekend at Cornell which means both current coaches and players will once again be hosting high school recruiting prospects on campus visits to Ithaca. With the recent recruitment additions of prepsters- Shonn Miller (6'6" F/G) and Devin Cherry (6'3" G), Cornell has bolstered its perimeter which will see Chris Wroblewski, Max Groebe, Andrew Ferry and Anthony Gatlin reach senior status during the 2011-2012 season. This means Miller and Cherry get a rookie season to learn the D-I ropes under some veteran leadership.
  • In alumni news, Louis Dale ('10) had 13 points for BG Gottingen in an 83-72 exhibition win on Thursday night over USC Heidelberg. NBA D-League veteran, Dave Wright had 24 points for the visiting Heidelberg club.
  • Jon Templon of writes, "I found it very interesting that Slam Magazine got a Cornell grad, Jon Jaques whose photo is there to the right, to write the Big Ten Preview this season. They couldn't find a competent writer from all of the prestigious academic universities in the Big Ten?"
