Recruiting News

Below, some recruiting news from around the Ivy League... reports that Andre Smith (Highlands Christian Academy) Pompano Beach, FL, 6-7, F, opted to pull the trigger and commit to Liberty University following his official visit. He canceled his remaining scheduled visits which included stops at Cornell, Bucknell, and Denver. reports that Andre Hollins (White Station HS) Memphis, TN, 6-2, G, had a positive experience on his visit to Auburn last weekend. In Hollins' words, the trip was "perfect" and that he has no leaders among his five finalists and plans to finish each of his scheduled trips with a decision in early November. Hollins, who also attended Auburn's Elite Camp this summer, is scheduled to take an official visit to Harvard next weekend. He's also planning an official visit to Minnesota (Sept. 23-25), Ole Miss (Oct. 1-3) and Stanford (Oct. 15-17). reports that Chad Haysbert (Center HS) Antelope, CA, 6-9, C, has interest from Penn, Columbia and Princeton, among other low majors, alhtough he has no offers. He is hoping to avoid a cold climate according to and is considering Division II and Division III programs.

Sai Tummala (Brophy Prep) Phoenix, AZ, 6-7, F, told that he has scheduled a visit to Penn and Yale while Pacific, Santa Clara, Harvard, Columbia, UC-Santa Barbara and Cal Poly SLO continue to recruit him. He currently has a 3.89 CUM GPA and a 2110 SAT score.

NEHoops reports that Bucknell, Brown, Dartmouth, Wagner, Northeastern, Loyola of Chicago, and Citadel are among those pursuing Andej Pajovic (Wilbraham and Monson Academy) Wilbraham, MA, 6-2, G. Yale is also reported to have expressed some interest.

i know it's early, but Cornell doesn't seem to be in the mix for high-profile recruits like Harvard and Penn seem to be (at least as reported by this blog). Is that right, or is it too early to tell?
