A Tradition of Big Red Basketball: The Red-White Scrimmage

We don't know the exact date of Cornell's first preseason, open-to-the-public, intersquad Red-White Scrimmage, but the tradition dates back quite a while, at least as far back as the 1920s with Cornell basketball teams frequently scrimmaging red jerseys vs. white jerseys. Above, the November 28, 1973 issue of the Cornell Daily Sun advertises the Red-White Scrimmage. The Watergate Scandal loomed heavy in the news.

The Red-White Scrimmage traditions continues at Cornell on October 23, 2010.

Doubtful. Legit question. Can we get an answer from whoever runs this blog?
