Background is too dark. Although it makes the pictures look better due to the contrast, the black type is harder to read.
The blog really needs a new header. The current one looks like something I would make in microsoft paint
Additional color scheme edits made.We would like to avoid using white background to enhance the photos and a few of us are looking at the site.Hope the new colors are not to tough on the eyes (background, text, links). As for a modified header, plans are in the works as is a private domain name, not that the current address has been a problem. People seem to find the site quite easily despite the blogspot address.
uh, the header I'm talking about is the giant "The Cornell Basketball Blog" sign at the top of the page...surely you can pay somebody $100 to design something that looks better than that
Yes, we know what you mean by header (or as some people refer to as the banner). We are working on a new site header/banner.
Yes there is not enough contrast between the background and textYes site is very easy to find, 2nd hit below athletic site on google for search cornell basketball
The header is fine; geez this is a fan blog. It shouldn't cost $100 to do anything. The grey background really IS horrid though, I gotta say.
much too dark to easily be read
First, allow me to say how much I value the work that's put into this site. I visit it multiple times each day. The new design has a modern look that makes the blog more aesthetically pleasing, but I have to agree with a previous post - the print is far too difficult to read. Otherwise, it looks great.
It's just too dark! Period!
Personally, I like the white better.
The dark grey background is really unpleasant. You don't see any major websites or blogs with that kind of background. Either make it all white or all black. Grey is so 90's.
The gray is horrible. Your first missions should be readability. I also compromises some text color - Yale blue fades away.
Please, continue the construction on this page. So difficult to read right now. If you want the pictures to have better contrast, make it so when you click on them it dims the background of everything but the picture you clicked on.
site looks good to me
Kenyatta Smith is off the board. Picked Harvard. Ugh.
site is a lot easier to read now
I couldn't imagine how some commenters could possibly be okay with the new gray background until I noticed that it is perfectly light and legible on my roommate's laptop while it's dark and barely legible on mine -- and my screen is at its brightest settings. So, the gray is showing up differently on different computers. You might have to consider that white works best for everyone.
Hi. As of this morning, 9/20, I'd say the main menu bar is still too dark, almost camouflaged. It's great that the items lighten up when you mouse over and become readable, but still, that's no reason they should be barely readable when not highlighted. the banner image is so dark I can barely see that it's a basketball. For reference, I have a high quality, 2 yr old Mac monitor.Thanks. I enjoy your blog very much.
