Above, incoming Cornell recruit, Shonn Milller. Below, an brief update on weekend action involving some of Cornell's future players.
- Heritage.com and AnnArbor.com both report on Dave LaMore's (Dexter HS, Dexter, MI, 6-10 C) 16 point performance on Saturday in Dexter's loss to Inkster at the Romulus Holiday Tournament.
- The Herald Leader reports that Galal Cancer (Christian Brothers Academy, Albany, NY, 6-3, G) scored 8 points as his Christian Bros. team cruised to a 77-44 win on Friday over Amsterdam.
- The Cleveland Plain Dealer writes of Shonn Miller (St. Ignatius HS, Cleveland, OH, 6-6, F) and his St. Ignatius team:
Playing without Shonn Miller isn’t ideal for the St. Ignatius High School boys basketball team. And therein lies a lesson. “This is life,” Ignatius head coach Sean O’Toole said. “You’re going to get thrown curve balls. Deal with it.” The Wildcats didn’t seem too worried about their circumstances as they went into Memorial Field House on Saturday night and beat McKinley, 50-40, in front of 1,000 fans. Miller, a 6-foot-7 Cornell University recruit, hasn’t played yet this season because of a right foot injury. The return of Ignatius’ best player, if he comes back at all, is unknown, O’Toole said.
