A Date in Cornell Basketball History: Cornell at Duke 1/26/87

Above, A.P. clippings from January 26, 1987. No. 13 Duke defeated Cornell 85-59 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. John Bajusz (Cornell '87), a three-time All-Ivy 1st team selection, led Cornell with 18 points. The Big Red would win the Ivy League the following season, but only after Bajusz graduated. Other notable names in the game included, Bryan Colangelo (Cornell '87), who did not score for Cornell, but currently serves as team president and general manager of the Toronto Raptors. He is a former NBA Executive of the Year winner. Meanhile, Danny Ferry scored 11 points for Duke. He is currently vice president of basketball operations for the San Antonio Spurs. Duke senior point guard, Tommy Amaker scored 8 points on 3/7 shooting in the game. Now the coach of Harvard, Amaker meets the Big Red again this Friday at Newman Arena.

Amaker looks to be a few pounds off of his playing weight from 1987

Maybe a few too many trips to the local Shoprite?????
