Wroblewski Academic All District


Complete 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District Men's Basketball Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Brown senior guard Garrett Leffelman and Cornell junior guard Chris Wroblewski were named to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Recognized among the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the floor and in the classroom, Leffelman and Wroblewski were selected to the first team in District 1 and have advanced to the national Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where First, Second and Third Team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

A native of Naperville, Ill., Leffelman is averaging 9.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game for the Bears through 18 games. He has scored in double figures in seven of Brown's last 11 games, registering a career-high 22 points at Providence on Dec. 6. Leffelman is an economics/political science major with a 3.89 grade point average.

Also an Illinois native from Highland Park, Wroblewski leads the Big Red in scoring (15.5 ppg) and is third in rebounding (3.3) playing 16 of his team's 18 games so far. He has posted 50 assists and 15 turnovers over his last nine contests. Wroblewski is an applied economics/management major with a 3.61 grade point average.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Junior Chris Wroblewski has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 1 first-team for his performance on the court and in the classroom during the 2010-11 season. Wroblewski will now join the national ballot for the prestigious Academic All-America team.

Wroblewski, a candidate for the Bob Cousy Award as the nation's top point guard, was named to the all-district team for the second straight year. Through the team's first 18 games, Wroblewski is leading the team in scoring (15.0 ppg.) and assists (5.7 apg.) and is second in steals (1.4 spg.). An honorable mention All-Ivy League pick in 2009-10, Wroblewski has been a key contributor to two Ivy championship teams and a starter on the 2010 NCAA Sweet 16 squad. The school's all-time leader in 3-point field goal percentage (.441), Wroblewski ranks in the top 20 all-time at Cornell in 3-point field goals, 3-point percentage, assists and steals. As a junior in 2010-11, Wroblewski ranks third in the Ancient Eight in scoring and 3-point field goals, first in assists and second in steals. The 2008 Ivy League Rookie of the Year is a three-time weekly honoree. Off the court, Wroblewski has posted a 3.61 grade point average in Applied Economics and Management.

Wroblewski and the Big Red return to action on Friday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Yale.
