  • Former Cornell player and alumnus, Bryan Colangelo (Cornell '87), the current President and General Manager of the Toronto Raptors is engaged in a critical head coaching search for his franchise. Larry Tannenbaum (Cornell '68) serves as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Raptors.
  • Former Cornell assistant coach and current NBA D-League head coach for the Erie Bay Hawks, Jay Larranaga told the Erie Times News that it was Cleveland Cavaliers director of pro player personnel, Wes Wilcox, who gave Larranaga a call about having him replace John Treloar as Erie's new head coach during the summer of 2010. "I was surprised and excited," said Larranaga, who met Wilcox at that 2008 Cavs' minicamp. "He called and I was in my office at Cornell recruiting."
