News and Notes: Wednesday Edition

Below, some news and notes for Wednesday...
  • We are down to a week and a half away to the exciting start of Cornell Basketball's Elite Prospect Camp. The Cornell Basketball Elite Prospect Camp will run from June 25-26 with many of of the Big Red's top recruiting targets expected to be in attendance.

  • Above, from our regular series, A Date in Cornell Basketball History, a look back at the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 Ivy League final standings. The Princeton Tigers clinched the '03-'04 Ivy League title with a dominating 13-1 record. With a pair of 1st Team All Ivy League selections returning for the '04-'05 campaign in 6'4" guard Will Venable and 6'11" center Judson Wallace, Princeton was was the prohibitive favorite to repeat as champions, garnering 14 out of 16 media poll 1st place votes. Not only did Princeton fail to repeat as league champions, the Tigers fell to 6th place with a disappointing 6-8 finish in '04-'05. Cornell meanwhile improved from a 6-8 5th place finished in '03-'04 to a 2nd place 8-6 finished in '04-'05. Cornell would continue its annual ascent in the league's standings until the Big Red captured the first of three consecutive outright Ivy League titles beginning in '07-'08.
