News and Notes: Friday Edition

Below, some news and notes for Friday...
  • In summer league action, Cornell freshman Ned Tomic is averaging 13 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for his Allan's Wolfpack team in the Cleveland Pro Am. Jake Matthews' SPK Law team fell this week to PBC in the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Pro Am championship game, 86-79. Josh Figini is playing for the Pat Madison Magic in the Howard Pulley Summer Pro League in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Among his teammates are the Timberwolves' Michael Beasley.
  • Delaware has released its schedule and we can now announce that the Big Red will serve as the Blue Hens' home opener on November 22. Note that this game is not the season opener for Cornell. While we are still unable to release Cornell's full nonconference schedule, it is common knowledge that Cornell owes nine (9) "return" games as part of the team's home-and-away series arrangements from a year ago. Five (5) additional games will round out the nonconference slate, three (3) of which will be against BCS conference opponents. Below are the expected series return games this upcoming season.
11/22/11 at Delaware
12/31/11 at Bucknell
