News and Notes: Tuesday Edition

Below, some news and notes for Tuesday...
  • In reference to the RPIs of Illinois' 2011-2012 opponents, the Peoria Journal Star writes, "the Illini also have time to grow up — the season opener on Nov. 11 against Loyola (197), plus games against Chicago State (339), Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (328), Coppin State (246) and Cornell (210). The Illini may also play Illinois State (255) in Cancun."
  • UWBadgers.com writes of Wisconsin assistant coach, Gary Close, "Close has interviewed for head coaching positions at Drake and Cornell. He felt like he was the perfect fit for Drake. So did many others. But he didn’t get the job. He thought Cornell would be ideal, too, especially since his dad went to school there. But that didn’t work out, either."
  • With the recent announcement of Brown's incoming recruiting class, we have updated our most recent Roster Report post with revised roster totals for each Ivy League program.
