Below, some news and notes for Wednesday...
  • Profiling St. Bonaventure's Andrew Nicholson, Pickin Splinters writes, "For Nicholson and the Bonnies, the present is November 11th when the Big Red of Cornell come to the Reilly Center for the season opener. A 7 p.m. tipoff is scheduled."
  • Cornell opponent, Delaware was picked in the preseason CAA poll to finish 7th. notes, "Delaware opens Nov. 11 at Radford, has its first home game Nov. 22 against Cornell." WBOC also notes "The Blue Hens play their home opener on Tuesday, November 22 when they welcome Cornell to the Bob Carpenter Center for a 7 p.m. tipoff."
  • A reminder, Cornell's Red-White Game, the annual open-to-the-public intersquad scrimmage is scheduled for October 22 at Newman Arena. The scrimmage tips off at approximately 4 pm following the home football game against Brown. The Red-White Game also coincides with the basketball program's Alumni Weekend where former players are invited to return back to Cornell. There is no expected online broadcast for the Red-White Game, but those plans could change.

Remember how Mark Coury said he had been practicing the lightning quick release baseline six-footer from his fingertips off an inbounds play, for the last three years?

It's the one at the 0:35 mark, that really turned the game pictured above into a W for Cornell.

Mark's gone, but far from forgotten. Let's hope this year's crop of Cornell bigs is ready to do something similar to the Quakers again on Feb-17. Deja vu all over again!!
