Red-White Game on Saturday

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Fans of the Cornell men's basketball team will get an opportunity for a first look at the 2011-12 Big Red when the team holds its annual Red-White Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. in Newman Arena. The first 100 fans will receive a Cornell basketball t-shirt.

Cornell, in its second year under head coach Bill Courtney, returns four starters and 11 letter winners from last season's 10-18 squad that placed fifth in the Ivy League. The Big Red won six of its final nine contests, including a sweep of Penn and a win over Yale. That team lost 10 contests by five points or less, including games to eventual NCAA tournament teams Boston University and Princeton, nationally ranked Minnesota and postseason qualifier St. Bonaventure. Included among the team's victories was one over Big South champion and NCAA tournament participant Wofford.

Teams will be selected and the format will be announced later in the week.

Just out of curiosity, who is the fourth returning Big Red starter mentioned in this article?

I've got Wrobo, Drew, and Errick, but... well, I'm drawin' a blank...

Believe it is Jake, Miles, Wrobo and Peck.

Are the new uniforms being unveiled at the game? I just saw that Harvard got new uni's.

You know, darn it, I was thinking traditional "starters' minutes."

Wrobo, Drew, and Errick are really the only returnees who played starters' minutes last year.

Makes me wonder if we are going to see something like that "scout starting unit" from Coach again this year. Given a 6-3 W/L record, you have to say that it worked.
