News and Notes: Thursday Edition

Below, some news and notes for Thursday...

  • The Omaha World Herald writes, "Creighton basically had its schedule set for next season before this season ended. The Bluejays are playing in a multiple-team event in Las Vegas, where they'll play two games within a pool of three other teams: Arkansas, Arizona State and Wisconsin. As part of the tournament, Creighton will play two home games against a pool of teams made up of Florida A&M, Presbyterian, Longwood and Cornell."
  • The International Basketball League writes of its team, the Yamhill (OR) Flyers and Jason Hartford (Cornell '08), "In Yamhill, Eric Bailey and the Highflyers are always a strong, competitive team -- our IBL family wonders how he does it -- attracting great players in the past like Josh Tarver (15.5 ppg), Nate Bowie (23.8 ppg, 6.6 apg) and Jason Hartford (23.9 ppg, 10.1 rpg)...Yamhill has all the pieces for success in the IBL."
