- Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports gives a comprehensive Division I injury list and notes of Cornell, "Braxton Bunce, Cornell -- Knee, expected to return in early December." The Cornell Basketball Blog's sources indicate to us that Bunce's earliest return is December (not an expected return), with January possibly the more conservative return date. Nevertheless, Bunce is practicing, but is limited to non-contact activity. Bunce missed part of his senior and sophomore years of high school with knee injuries.

- Former Cornell assistant coach, Joe Burke, is preparing his Skidmore team for an exhibition with Siena today.
- ESPN's Eamonn Brennan gives his thoughts on the Ivy League race.
- In Cornell alumni pro news, Jeff Foote (Cornell '10) and Zalgiris face Neptunas on Sunday in Lithuanian LKL action. Louis Dale (Cornell '10) and KAOD face Olimpiacos today in Greece A1 league play. Jeff Aubry (Cornell '99) and Halcones face Victoria today in Mexico's LNBP.
- According to NBC Sports, Cornell will face three of the top sixteen centers in the country this season. Also with respect to Cornell's 2012-2013 schedule, Arizona State is looking to push the pace while Vanderbilt struggled in an exhibition win last night.

Looking at the CBS injury list and all I can wonder is whether God hates Brown basketball.
What about Cornell last year?
Lost Peck, Sahota and Matthews for entire year. Also lost MAA, DCherry, Scelfo and Lamore for substantial time.
Cornell was banged to hell.
Incredible how Harvard always had great health. Even with the losses of Casey, Curry, Matt Brown, Giger, Hooper, K.Wright, Corbin Miller, Van Next, McNally--- not one loss to injury.
Peck and MAA were bad losses last year but I don't think that is equivalent to losing four guys who were all once starters on your team.
Brown is definitely suffering more, but not going to feel bad for them. Cornell has suffered with injuries over the years, even with Donahue.
2009 was a mess--- Gore, Dale, Reeves, Tyler, to name a few. That team should have been better than it was. Loss of Gore and a hobbled Dale kept them from doing damage in the tournament.
This year is already off to a not so great start with Bunce down. His size at 6'11" 250 changes the entire look of the team on the court and puts less pressure on Miller. Also gives you a big guy to clean garbage off the glass.
Remember that Cornell lost Scelfo and Tarwater for their freshmen seasons to injury and illness. Losing Matthews and Sahota to injuries for their entire sophomore seasons also had an Impact. Matthews played in 21 games with 11 starts as a Frosh and is still battling injuries this season missing substantial early practice time. Sahota was highly regarded as a freshman but recently left the team. That entire class has lost at least four years total battling injuries and that has an impact. Add Bunce to that injury list this year and you can see that Cornell has been affected too.
