  • Cornell RPI WatchThe RPI (Rating Percentage Index) is a measure of strength of schedule and how a team does against that schedule. It does not consider the margin of victory, but only whether or        not a team won and where the game was played (home/away/neutral court). The formula is 25% team                      winning percentage (WP), 50% opponents' average winning percentage (OWP), and 25% opponents'                opponents' average winning percentage (OOWP). (See: CollegeRPI.com for a further explanation of the formula.) The RPI may be the most influential factor in NCAA Tournament seeding. Cornell's RPI rank as of December 30 is No. 235 out of 344 total Division I teams. While neither the Ken Pomeroy or the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) are used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, the KenPom.com site ranks Cornell No. 249 in the nation, while the Sagarin Rankings (USA Today) have Cornell at No. 253 Both sites are predominantly used by fans and the media.

This massive collapse against an awful Binghamton team does not bode well for us.

as is usually the case, we simply cannot make plays to finish games. Questionable Xs&Os and Courtney's erratic substitution pattersn are a huge factor. We didn't stop BInghamton. Binghamton simply ran out of time. Give them an extra 2 minutes and they would have won.

I'm afraid expectations will now be so low that we'll pat Bill Courtney on the back for finishing as high as 5th.

Never settle. Never set low expectations. Always play to win, always root to win.

One less turnover by Binghamton and they would have won. What a horrible coaching effort bf BigRed. Am I mistaken or were there any time outs to slow or stop the momentum. We're there any coaching of these young men who continually shot threes down the wire instead of taking it low to get fouls shots or high percentage shots. Disappointed tremendously because of this was any Ivy team this would have become a LOST! Young men played hard as they could but Head coach Leadership Lacking . Not even to mention this latest rotation of players. It's will be a long, long Ivy League Season! Good fortune, Good Luck or a Good coach needed!

What happened to Eric Peck? Is he hurt?

so Harvard beats Cal on the road, Brown beats Providence, and we edge Binghamton. There's something wrong with this picture. Peck didn't play. Was he hurt? He's the only carry-over from the great 2010team. Potentially, he's all-league. If he shows up, we're contenders. If he doesn't or he's hurt, it will be a long season.

At this point, the way this team is playing while others seem to be improving, high expectations is praying for miracles, about 10 miracles during Ivy play, because we know we have a coach who has given no indication that he is capable of accomplishing it through his coaching ability.

We are likely to be in a situation where Brown was under Jesse Agel: bad coach who might have a plan for beating certain Ivy teams but is not good enough to contend or finish in the top half. Agel was bizarrely adept at beating Princeton, and Brown tended to have unusually successful P-P weekends, but they were never serious contenders. Courtney might pick up an unexpected W or two and people will wonder if we misjudged him, then he will lose to Yale by 30 and finish in the bottom half and we'll know we won't.

Because after 3 years, come on. We've seen enough. He is an ineffective coach who has sunk our team to cupcake class. HE is the only person who needs to change, or he needs to go.
