News and Notes: Thursday Edition

Above, Dates in Cornell Basketball History, Press Information Guides for the '71-'72 and '73-'74 seasons.  Below, news and notes for Thursday...
  • Kentucky.com lists the roster sizes of the Kentucky Wildcats in recent years which included former Cornellian, Mark Coury, a transfer from the Wildcats.
  • The Ft. Wayne Journal published a pair of articles that refer to Errick Peck.  See the articles here and here.  The Journal writes, "Don’t expect Peck...to lead the Boilermakers to the Final Four. ...Peck is a combo forward who will defend and who can score from either forward position. He is smart and tough, a good combination to have in the Big Ten."

If CUAA needs a replacement, how about William & Mary? (Second try)

Hahah, slow news day. A link to an old Kentucky roster with Mark Coury's name.

The reason to post wasn't really the Coury reference. As mentioned on Twitter, the Blog was showing that BCS teams, like Ivy teams, can sometimes fill a roster with 17+ players.

The irony here is that Kentucky has an army of top 50 kids and they still feel the need to have a roster of 17. Kinda silly.
